Remembering to put on lipstick all the time is not high on my list of things that I need to get done on a daily basis. Gloss is nice, but it can be sticky and even more impractical than the old-school lipstick. But the new lip stains out can really add some color to your lips without needing constant attention.
Hard Candy Lip Tattoo Lip Stain and Gloss, $6, Walmart.com
. As hard core as this sounds, it’s actually a really great stain at a super reasonable price. If you’re a compulsive glosser, this gives you a clear gloss that you can use to keep your pout moist, and the color only needs to be applied once and will last you the rest of the day.
CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain, $7.89, Target.com
. A recent newcomer, CoverGirl’s Outlast stain has gotten quite a bit of press, and most of it good. Much like using a felt tip marker, this gives long lasting color without much effort. Excellent shade selection, so all skin types should be able to find something that works.
Urban Decay Lip Envy, $17, Beauty.com
. This is a sheer, buildable lip stain, so you can go as subtle or as dramatic as you’d like. Wears very well - several cups of coffee and a meal isn’t unheard of. Also boasts a nice vanilla smell that isn’t overwhelming.
Pixi Lip Blush Collection, $18, Target.com
. Another felt-tip pen style, Pixi gives incredible color payoff with excellent wear. No need to apply layer after layer of color with the Pixi Lip Blush - one coat will do you. Wear with or without gloss, and don’t worry about frequent touch-ups.
