One of the most common beauty myths is that eye cream needs to be expensive to work. And the truth of the matter is that there are plenty of expensive eye creams out there to choose from. However, drugstore and mass-market brands are catching up with the technology with some amazing results. More and more often, reviewers and beauty editors are choosing lower priced formulations over the expensive creams. ConsumerSearch.com went looking for the three best creams, and the results are not what you would think.
Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum, Fragrance Free
, $15.19, 1.7 fluid ounces, Drugstore.com
. While not specifically an eye cream, reviewers found that the ingredients were almost identical. The only difference was the size of the product itself. Contains amino-peptides to rejuvenate skin, and the price is certainly reasonable.
Jan Marini Factor-A Eyes for Dark Circles
, $80, 60 capsules, Amazon.com
. The most expensive of the three, it’s high rating is based on the belief (based on good science) that some ingredients such as vitamin K or kojic acid can reduce dark circles. Ironically, none of the reviewers said that it gets rid of dark circles, which is what the product is designed to do, but many of them said that they saw a definite improvement.
Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller Gel, $13.49, 0.5 fluid ounces, Drugstore.com
. The two things that seem to make this product special are the metal roller ball, which reviewers say feels “soothing” and can help improve circulation in the under-eye area, and the light-reflecting pigments such as mica in the formulation which can help conceal dark circles in the area.
