Kids are introduced to computers before they can talk these days. However, it’s not always easy to hand over your own iPhone or Blackberry to keep them occupied. Two new handheld learning systems from Vtech and Fisher-Price have just hit retail shelves and mimic mom’s smart phone in look and programming features in order to relieve the stress of them using your phone. The Vtech MobiGo Learning System is for kids ages 3 to 8 and features a QWERTY slide-out keyboard and touch activated screen. Games that aid in learning shapes, colors, spelling, math and logic are available to play with the system with favorite characters like Shrek, Disney Princesses and Dora.
The Fisher-Price iXL Learning System is for kids ages 3 and up and is similar to the iPhone in that it comes pre-loaded with software for instant play right out of the box. It is also a digital book reader, game player, digital art book, MP3 music player, notepad and photo viewer. Additional games are also available to play with the system that feature Disney and Nick Jr. characters. Both systems are sure to be the most requested holiday gifts from your kids this year — it’s never too early in the year to stock up on holiday gifts!
