Kid-friendly natural insect repellents

Remember the warmer-than-usual winter we just left? At the time it seemed so nice—very little snow, few freezes, balmy air. As it turns out, it was a pretty good winter for bugs, too. They are extra plentiful this year. From mosquitoes to ticks, the nastiest of bugs are already out and ready to annoy. Given the debate over the safety of chemical bug repellents, I personally try to stick with natural sprays for my daughter as long as possible. While it seems like it truly takes DEET products to ward off all insects, the products featured below go a long way toward keeping bugs at bay. And don’t forget the tried-and-true citronella candle when you’re on the patio or in the yard. It’s an easy and inexpensive extra line of defense.
