Moms

It could be your mom, your mother-in-law, a neighbor, a best girlfriend or perhaps yourself that you want to appreciate this Valentine's Day and there's no better way to do that then with a little gift. Take the time to show them how much you care this holiday with a wallet-friendly gift that will surely bring a smile to their face and perhaps more babysitting hours too!

While adorable on your kids, heart emblazoned clothing looks a little silly on most adults. Still, with Valentine's Day nearing, it's fun to sport something festive for the season of love. How do you bridge the gap? With jewelry, of course. A small heart pendant, antique-looking earrings or a bold, slightly edgy heart ring, like the styles featured below, look fresh and timely during the month of February and classically stylish the rest of the year. Go ahead, wear your heart on your sleeve...or wherever you love a great piece of jewelry.

It's not hard to understand why TOMS are so popular. They're comfortable, they come in a rainbow of colors and each pair sold benefits an underprivileged child. Despite all the good, however, it's difficult for some of us to get past the original ultra-casual design. If you find yourself in this category, you'll be happy to see TOMS Shoe's latest style: the ballet flat. The chicer look and dressier fabrications mean you can dress them up for work or down for a weekend dinner out. And just like all TOMS styles, each pair sold means a child in need receives a free pair. That's the perfect justification to try out the entire line.

Let's face it - we're moms. It doesn't mean that we don't like to look good for our spouses and partners but what it does mean is that the days of "sexy" lingerie being worn to bed are long gone. However, you can still be sexy and comfortable this Valentine's Day with sleepwear that covers enough that your stretch marks aren't hanging out but shows just enough to make him go "oh, la, la" all over again!

No need to wait until the first day of spring or Memorial Day to start wearing your white denim this year. While the colored denim is all the rage, don't discount the color white this year. Wear long skinny jeans with heels or pair a pencil skirt with cork wedges and either look will look fabulous with a fresh, floral print shirt. However you wear it...you'll definitely look white hot!

With one kindergartener, one preschooler and now a newborn in the house, you know that I've read my fair share of bedtime classics like Goodnight Moon and The Velveteen Rabbit. So when I stumbled upon the the new BabyLit Board Books that introduce the adult classics of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, and Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, I was literally thrilled! Written by Jennifer Adams in simple prose and text that babies will love listen to and that toddlers and young kids can start to understand, these books are a great way to introduce your love of reading to your kids. What a fantastic baby gift for the mom who has just about everything!

Get ready to get those toes and nails manicured and polished up for the spring season with a big splash of color. The year's hottest nail colors are anything but traditional as we're seeing mint, tangerine, fuchsia, nude and metallic nails on the streets. Another new trend is to skip the polish altogether and put a fun print on your nails via "nail skin" -- try it if you dare!

The same hormones that create that coveted "pregnancy glow" can actually backfire for some of us (myself included). Instead of a fresh, clear face, we wind up with blemishes, cystic acne and/or melasma. Worst of all, the usual skincare treatments are often considered iffy, if not completely unsafe, to use for these skin problems when you're expecting. Developed by mothers with the guidance of dermatologists, OBGYNs and industry experts, Amalou Skin is one of the first and only "maternity-conscious" skincare lines. Without salicylic acid, retinoids, hydroquonine, benzoyl peroxide and other typical no-no chemicals and ingredients, the Amalou Skin line gently exfoliates, detoxifies, moisturizes and treats your skin safely before, during and after pregnancy. While, yes, some of you are still out there shoveling snow or ducking cover from the rain, as you know in fashion...it's never too early to start looking ahead to the next season. Spring is just around the corner and your snow boots just won't do. This spring is proving to be all about cork -- cork heels, wedges and sandals. Sure, it's the same material that you pop off of wine bottles but it looks just as glamourous dressed up on your feet!
